In the office of the Nightclub, Dupees, Richard, a transvestite and savvy gay nightclub owner identifies as, Harlotte Dupree by day and by night identifies as Miss Rophilla, a foul-mouthed, off-key singing, two-left feet dancing drag queen.
Richard’s Mother lives with him in the upstairs flat of the gay nightclub surrounded by tatty feathers, fake tan and more sequence than she cares to think about.
As Richard attempts to diversify his income, Mother’s wish is to live in a care home with her photo frames, collection of porcelain clowns and memories of happier days.
Mother keeps herself entertained with reminding her transvestite son of the daily envelopes stamped with Urgent and Final Notice. She pretends not to listen in on her son’s business telephone conversations. She’s not too concerned with the strange deliveries and meetings help in the cellar. Nor is she concerned about which drag act will entertain the drunken and rowdy crowds in the main bar each night.
Richard is only concerned with two things, how to earn an extra few thousand pounds with supplying cadavers to Nigel and his necrophilia underground fetish clubs and how to keep up with supply and demand.
Is the world famous drag queen, Crystal Chandelier the answer to Richard’s cash flow problems? Will the crowds come to keep the Sheriff away? Will Mother get her wish?
